Beach and Local Activities

The Cabin on Hood Canal features 200 feet of shared beachfront complete with shellfish galore. Fresh oysters and clams abound at low tide. There are buoys to tie up to, if you want to bring your boat. You can swim out to our raft in the summer, relax on a floatie, or read a book in a deck chair. The beach lawn area is a great place for a game of bocce ball, horseshoes or even softball. There is a community fire pit for an evening campfire as you watch the sun go down and maybe roast a marshmallow or two.

The Cabin on Hood Canal is a great home base for exploring the south end of Hood Canal. If you golf, you can play any of four championship golf courses (all within 10 miles). You can visit the Alderbrook Resort by boat or car for a meal or spa treatment. Other things to do include walking the three mile path through the Theler Wetlands which is filled with eco-discoveries for people of all ages, visiting the Saturday Farmer’s Market, or bringing your bikes and riding through the back roads to Belfair State Park. There are miles and miles of dirt bike/ATV trails accessible within 1/4 mile of the Cabin in the Tahuya Forest. There are many of things to do as you rest and relax.
